STMIK Tazkia held its Inaugural Lecture for the 2026 academic year with the theme “Character Wins The Future: Building Character and Ethics in the Era of Artificial Intelligence Dominance.” The event, attended by new students and the entire academic community, featured five keynote speakers from diverse professional backgrounds.

Cross-Disciplinary Speakers
The inaugural lecture featured five speakers representing perspectives from government, media, academia, Islamic economics, and mosque leadership:
1. Dr. Adityawarman Adil, S.Si., M.Si — Chairman of Bogor City Parliament (DPRD)
Opening the session, Dr. Adityawarman Adil emphasized the importance of character building for the younger generation amid rapid technological advancement. As Chairman of the Bogor City Parliament, he provided insights on how character and integrity serve as the primary foundation for building careers and making meaningful contributions to society.
“Mastering technology alone is not enough. In the era of digital and Artificial Intelligence, character and ethics are the key differentiators that will determine one’s success,” Dr. Adityawarman stated.

2. Nihrawati AS — CEO of RADAR BOGOR
Nihrawati AS brought perspectives from the world of media and communication. As CEO of RADAR BOGOR, she shared experiences on how character and integrity are key to building public trust in the digital media era.
“In this fast-paced world, information spreads in seconds. Character and integrity are the foundation for communication professionals to present accurate and responsible information. Credible media is built upon the character and integrity of its journalists and leaders,” said Nihrawati AS.
She also emphasized the importance of technological adaptability for the younger generation without losing core character values.

3. Ricky Setiadi, S.Kom., M.Kom — Chairman of STMIK Tazkia Senate
Representing the academic perspective with deep expertise in cybersecurity, Ricky Setiadi discussed how the development of Artificial Intelligence and modern technology is transforming the employment landscape. With a background as a practitioner in National Cyber Security and various international certifications, he emphasized that graduates of Information Systems and Computer Engineering must not only master technical skills but also possess strong professional ethics.
“My experience in National Cyber Security taught me one important lesson: no matter how sophisticated the security technology, it is useless if the users lack integrity and ethics. A cybersecurity expert with noble character will use their skills to protect, not to destroy. STMIK Tazkia students are equipped with project-based learning that not only sharpens technical abilities but also builds character through real collaboration with industry partners,” explained Ricky Setiadi.
He added that the greatest challenge in the AI era is not just technical, but also the ethical aspects of decision-making regarding technology use.

4. H. Iwan — Chairman of Baitul Maal Tazkia
H. Iwan delivered his material from the perspective of Islamic values in character building. As the leader of a zakat institution, he shared experiences on how integrity and honesty are key to managing the trust of the ummah (community).
“In the halal industry ecosystem, noble character is not just an added value but an absolute requirement. Technology without character can be misused, but technology combined with noble values will provide real benefits for society,” said H. Iwan.

5. Syarifuddin Kusin — Director of MASJID TAZKIA SENTUL
Syarifuddin Kusin closed the session with perspectives from community development and mosque management. As Director of MASJID TAZKIA SENTUL, he shared insights on the importance of building character through real contributions to society.
“A mosque is not just a place of worship but also a center for character development and community empowerment. Young people who master technology while possessing noble character will become the agents of change this nation needs,” said Syarifuddin Kusin.

Why Character Wins The Future?
The theme “Character Wins The Future” was chosen in response to the challenges of an era where Artificial Intelligence is increasingly dominant in various aspects of life. Key points presented include:
Technology Can Be Replaced, Character Cannot
In an era where AI can automate many technical tasks, irreplaceable human capabilities include:
- Integrity and honesty — AI can process data but lacks a moral compass
- Empathy and social awareness — Technology cannot replace the human touch
- Ethical decision-making — AI provides recommendations, but humans make the decisions
- Meaningful creativity — AI can generate content, but humans give it meaning
